There are many plants in the forest such as Maple trees, Oak trees, Hickory trees, and beech tree. A adaptation all these trees have is in the spring deciduous trees begin producing thin, broad, light weight tree. This adaptation easily captures sunlight needed for photosynthesis. the broad leaves are great when the temperatures are warm and there is a lot of sunlight however when temperatures are cold, the broad leaves expose too much surface area to water loss and tissue damage. To prevent this from occurring the trees make physical and internal changes that are triggered by the change in climate.
